ANTHEPROT - Signal
prediction
|
|
The solvent accessiblity method (von Heijne, 1998) is useful to predict
the location of :
-
Potential signal peptide
-
Prediction of cleavage site
Principle
The parameters of the methods are taken from the database of signal
peptides. The occurence of amino acids at each position of a signal peptide
was calculated for eucaryotic and procaryotic sequences separately. Then
a frequency table was established and used to calculate the score o all
windows (15 aa long) moving along the actual sequence. The most probable
cleavage site was the highest score obtained.

How to make it with ANTHEPROT?
Since, you need only 1 sequence, the signal prediction can be obtained
when only one sequence is loaded.
